Roleplay: 18th of October 2010

Season: Autumn/Fall. The temperature is rather mild, a fair few degrees above freezing.

Two wolves move stealthily through the North Forest. One, the larger of the pair and jet-black, sniffs the air. He turns to the dark grey who is following behind him.
"There aren't many wolves in this valley. Perhaps we should stop here." The dark grey wolf, called Venus, picks up her pace to catch up with him.
"Perhaps. Shall we hunt? We haven't eaten since we left the pack." Mercury nodded.
"Let's see what we can find."

Grant lowered to his belly and moved through the snow like an experienced wolf would- he'd been on his own forever. He wanted a place to stay. But he wouldn't mind a mate, ether.

Mercury moved swiftly through the trees of the North Forest, stalking some rabbits as that was the most he could hunt on his own. Venus kept her distance, not wanting to accidently startle the rabbits and ruin their chances of a successful hunt.

Grant watched the two wolves from afar with narrowed eyes. He didn't want to approach yet.

Mercury saw his chance and attempted to pounce on the rabbit, but the rabbit spotted him and managed to get away. Mercury stopped, annoyed with his ameaturish mistake, and growled in frustration. Venus sighed, and came down to join him.

Grant saw his chance. He began to move towards the wolves, no longer afraid.

ooc: WHo is the Alpha Male here? they will need to show him they're boss some how...

ooc: There isn't one at the moment but I don't mind Mercury being Alpha.

Mercury spots Grant and eyes him suspiciously. Venus is a little less hostile, but still she holds her ground.

Grant lowered himself to the ground in submission. He wasn't looking for a fight yet.

Mercury approaches him, holding his tail high. Venus follows, interested to see what her brother will do.

Grant instinctively acted submissive, careful. He did not need any serious injuries.

Venus gives Grant a curious sniff. He didn't seem like a threat to her. Mercury watched Venus, and decides that Mercury isn't dangerous.

Grant stood up.

Venus decides to break the rather tense atmosphere.
"What brings you to these parts?"

Grant raised an eyebrow in an unamused look.
"Lookin' for a pack, thank you," he muttered.

"Mercury and I been in the forest for a while." Venus explained. "I don't think there's a pack here. If there is then they're very good at keeping hidden."

Grant shook his head. "Aint' no pack here," he chuckled, and swished his tail from side to side.

Venus sighs. "To be honest, I don't see why there isn't a pack. This place isn't half bad." Mercury grunted, and Venus cast a glance his way. "Is that your way of agreeing with me?" She asks.
"If you call that 'agreeing', then yes, sister."

Grant shurgged. "I don't see why not ether. Even though I ain't cut out to be an Alpha, I could help start a pack out."

Venus smiled at the idea. "Well, if you want to start a pack then I'm game." She turned to Mercury. "You?"
"Well, leading a solitary life sounds interesting. Not much competition from other wolves. But having other wolves watching your back and helping you hunt is also good. And I don't want to have to live off rabbits all my life."
"Because you can't catch them?" Venus teased, remembering Mercury's earlier little hunting mishap.
"Oh, ha, ha." Mercury's voice was dripping with sarcasm. Venus ignored him and revised her original question.
"So is that a yes or a no?"
"Well, seeing as you insist on it..."
"Why can't you just give a straight answer? Actually, you know what? Never mind." Venus shook her head and turned to Grant. "Sorry about him."

ooc: It's fun roleplaying as Mercury and Venus!

Grant shrugged. He knew he couldn't be an Alpha male, but if Venus needed a mate, he could step in. He would just father pups- not lead the pack like an Alpha male. Grant was too laid back to care.

Venus glanced at Mercury.
"Well, if we are to start a pack, then we're not going to get very far with just the three of us." She said. "There's bound to be more wolves in this valley. I still don't see why a pack isn't already formed here."
